Texas Holdem

To study the playing poker rules is not complicated at all, mainly if it is Texas Holdem. Almost all poker game versions are played with a standard 52 card deck and every poker table seats from 2 to 10 gamblers. The game begins with two poker players making the blind bets. After that two cards are dealt face down to each player at the table, these cards are called hole or pocket cards. In Pre-flop betting the person next to the big blind is to place bet first. This player may leave the game or stay in the game, in case he or she chooses to stay the big blind has to be raised or called. In case there weren’t raises and re-raises pre-flop action ends with the “big blind” gambler which can check, call the bet, and re-raise. The betting round is completed when all gamblers wager the equal amount of chips to the game pot.

In Flop three community cards are placed on the table. The poker players verify their hands and start new betting round. This is followed with Turn and River, in which two other community cards occur one by one. Each card deal is followed by the round of betting. All five community cards on the board can be used by the gamblers to make their five cards hands. The player who obtains the best hand in accordance with the regular poker hand rankings is awarded the pot. It may happen that two hands tie, so the pot is split. According to the basic playing poker rules in Hold’em poker the gamblers are allowed to play the board this means that they can use all five community cards to make their hands.

Hold’em poker with the No-Limit betting structure is the most widespread poker game. Unlike in the other games the gamblers may wager as much as they wish at any point of game. That’s why All-in is available in such game. This means that the poker player may wager all the money he/she holds. Of course, it is not safe however most experienced poker players choose No-Limit Hold’em as the best opportunity to apply their skills and win big.

Omaha

If you are familiar with the playing poker rules of Texas Holdem you know how to play Omaha since the rules of these game variants are very similar. Omaha game is also played in the number of rounds of betting that are the pre-flop, flop, turn and river. In the showdown the hands are shown and the game pot is awarded. The one peculiarity of Omaha game is that instead of two pocket cards the players are given four hidden cards two of which they have to use to form their five cards hand. Thus three community cards may be used to form the poker hand. The other playing poker rules of both games do not differ at all.

Seven-Card Stud

Seven-Card Stud Poker starts with the antes posting. Then each player gets three cards, two of them are hidden and one is exposed. The second cards deal is one face up card that is followed by betting round. This is repeated two times until the final seventh card is dealt face-down. Thus during the game every poker player has three face down and four face-up cards and any five of these cards are used to make the player’s hand. The ranks of the poker hands in Seven Card Stud are the same like in Holdem and Omaha poker. In fact such hand rankings are considered to be the standard. In some variations of playing poker rules Joker and Five of a Kind are used.

Caribbean Stud

In Caribbean Stud poker the poker players play against the dealer’s hand. As the playing poker rules state the game starts with the ante bets posting. The gamblers then get five face-down cards. The dealer is dealt five card too but one of them is dealt exposed. The players decide what their odds are and if it is better to forfeit the hand or continue to play. In order to continue the play the player is to wager, which in fact means that the player raises since he/she posts the amount which is equal to the ante bet. In order to win the player’s poker hand must beat the dealer’s one, what is more, the dealer’s hand is to qualify. It means to obtain Ace and King or better. In case the dealer does not qualify the poker player is paid out even money while his/her raise wager is returned. As the playing poker rules dictate the players can make the optional bet on obtaining flush or better. In case of royal flush the player gets the progressive jackpot.
